Privacy Policy

In short: Kanalo has no accounts and does not collect, track or sell your data. Your sources, favorites and watch history stay on your computer.

1. Who we are

Kanalo is an IPTV player for Windows (and, later, Samsung TV). You can reach us at support@kanalo.org.

2. What the app stores on your device

Kanalo keeps the following only on your own computer, in the app's data folder:

the sources you add (a playlist link, a local file path, or an Xtream Codes server, username and password). Passwords are encrypted using Windows' own credential protection where it is available;
your favorites, watch history and playback progress;
your settings and cached channel, film and series lists.

We do not receive any of this. You can remove it at any time by deleting a source in the app, using Clear history, or choosing to remove your data when you uninstall Kanalo.

3. What the app connects to

Kanalo sends requests only to fetch what you ask it to play:

Your IPTV provider. To load channels, guides, posters and video, the app connects to the servers in the sources you added. The provider can see your IP address and what you watch, under its own privacy policy. Kanalo is not part of that relationship.
GitHub (optional). If Look up missing channel logos is on (the default), the app downloads a public list of channel logos from GitHub and loads logo images from there. GitHub can see your IP address when this happens. You can turn this off in Settings.
Links you open. If you open a link, such as a trailer, it opens in your web browser.

Kanalo has no analytics, advertising, crash reporting or automatic update checks, and it does not send usage data to us.

4. This website

The site uses no cookies, analytics or advertising scripts. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, processes technical data such as your IP address in server logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Downloads are served from Cloudflare as well. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

5. Email

If you write to support@kanalo.org, we receive your message and email address and use them only to answer you. Email is forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing. We keep support emails only as long as needed to help you.

6. Payments

If paid features are offered in the future, payments will be handled by a payment provider that acts as the seller and processes your payment details. Kanalo itself will not store your card details. This policy will be updated before that happens.

7. Your rights

Because we hold almost no personal data about you, there is usually little to request. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Norway, you have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to complain to your data protection authority (in Norway, Datatilsynet). Write to support@kanalo.org.

8. Children

Kanalo is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. The app has an optional PIN to hide adult categories.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
